An introduction to the new season which will include three new segments: Marriner Eccles, the Centralverse Website, and Our Recession interview series.

Introduction

Welcome back to The Bankster Podcast. My name is Alexander Bagehot, and I’m happy to be back behind the microphone. For returning listeners, I hope you’ve had as enjoyable a spring as I have. It’s been about two months since our last episode. I dropped off just in time to get married in the beautiful Salt Lake City Latter Day Saint temple and then honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. My wife and I have been back for a few weeks and it feels good to get back into a healthy routine, which for me includes writing and producing The Bankster Podcast - as you know, the podcast about the incredibly fascinating and ever more consequential world of Central Banking.

Season 1 of The Bankster Podcast was dedicated to achieving two goals - (1) teach about the structure of the Federal Reserve System and (2) share interesting stories from its past. I spent a full year doing Season 1 and loved every minute of it. For those of you that haven’t listened to them I highly recommend browsing through the 26 episodes and listening to a few of them that pop out to you.

Season 2 is going to be a little different. The schedule will be the same. I’ll plan on publishing every other Friday morning at 7am Eastern Time. However, I’m going to have a couple of different segments that I’ll do. In Episode 26 of Season 1 I introduced you to two of those segments: the first will be updates on how the construction of the Centralverse website is going and the second will be experiences and lessons from the life of Marriner Eccles. I’m happy to announce that there will be a third segment. This third segment is called Our Recession - interviews with regular people from across the world about their experiences during the Great Recession.

The first episode, published directly behind this one in your feed is the first episode of season 2 and the very first interview in the new Our Recession segment.
